Hakone 2

Hakone (箱根町, Hakone-machi)

My visit to Hakone was a romantic apocalyptic affair. The small sleepy town nestled by Lake Ashi was taken over by dense fog, the air was damp, and you could hardly see the outline of your hand as you held it out in front of you. The colours that escaped through the dappled light threw hues of pink and every so often, when there was a break in its movements, you would be teased with a glimpse of the Izu National Park landscape.

Toying with you, drawing you in as if a siren was leading you to the water and the mountains that followed. This piece is a romantic notion of the unpredictable weather, and a colour journey of my apocalyptic romance in Hakone.
